Congratulations to Ozan Sahin on becoming an Architect

For the Senses are delighted to announce that our team member Ozan Sahin has registered as an architect.

Ozan has completed the Architecture Postgraduate Diploma Professional Practice at the University of Westminster. He is now eligible to register with the Architects Registration Board (ARB) and use the title architect.

He has previously completed a BA(Hons) in Architecture and a Masters in Architecture at the University of East London, concluding 8 years of studying and professional practice.

“I am thrilled to have passed my Part III studies and completed the long journey of becoming an Architect. Initially, the idea of doing the Part III was daunting. However, once the process started, everything fell into place and made sense. I look forward to my journey as a qualified Architect”, described Ozan.

For the Senses Director, Michael Serginson is delighted to see Ozan’s progression. “He deserves a lot of praise for passing his exams. After the disruption of lockdown he has managed to balance his daily responsibilities at work, and he has earned the right to be recognised for all of his efforts.”

Ozan has since been promoted from Part II Architectural Assistant to Architect.

Mentoring

For the Senses support their employees in technical training and provide a mentoring scheme for prospective architects studying for their Part III exams.

“For me, the experience was unique as it was carried out during the lockdown for the most part. The online format was helpful in terms of managing time. However, it would have been good to create a better sense of comradery with my fellow peers. Michael’s mentoring was very beneficial, especially with the exams. His architectural expertise and personal Part III experience were very advantageous in terms of providing support” said Ozan.

The course is completed on a part-time basis and takes 12 months to complete.

“We enjoy passing on our experience to our employees who are looking to progress both professionally and individually. We carry out quarterly reviews and have weekly check-ins. We helped Ozan with his Personal Reflection requirements and worked to identify where he needed to gain experience in all stages of the RIBA Plan of Work ahead of his exams. It is rewarding to see Ozan pass, improve his understanding of projects and reach the end of the long journey of study to become an architect”, added Michael.
